AFC Wimbledon, the first English fan-owned club that rose from the ashes of the original Wimbledon FC, were promoted to the Football League on Saturday after a penalty shootout playoff win over Luton Town.
The community, that was betrayed by the authorities that allowed its team to abandon for Milton Keynes, could have disappeared. But the fan fought back, founded a team and today are back where they belong.
