One of the worst things about celebrity culture is that individuals are made to believe they are Demigods.

That’s why organic creatures believe they have divine abilities and many of them later on suffer from full blown Megalomania.

We all know one or two people who were made to believe they are better than everyone else. We hate them. We mockingly name them “movie stars”.

And that’s why Xavi should win the FIFA Ballon d’Or (football’s Oscars?). He is not the movie star but he is the screenwriter and director. He is what football is about – teamwork.

Xavi, the normal looking everyday kind of guy, makes the greatest team in football today click. He is knowingly the cog wheel that makes the machine that is Barcelona work better. He is the coach on the field, the unsung hero that makes all the right moves and dishes the right passes to the right player.

He might not be a movie star, but without him there would be no movie.

    Absolutely! Bt at the end of the day what really matters is who scored the goal and that’s why Messi has an upper hand. But Xavi certainly one of the greatest midfielders the game has ever seen.
