You can play him in the holding central midfielder position. He is 30, he will find it difficult to battle the younger physical players. He will struggle with match fitness. He will struggle.
You can play him in front of a midfield battler – like Phil Jones in the past two games. You will get the maturity of a 30 year old – at a position where the best of the best – Xavi, Scholes – peaked at the 30-year point of their lives.
