Chelsea's youth development program is a bigger waste of money than Fernando Torres

Chelsea spends about £10m per season on youth development.

It’s a bigger waste of money than Fernando Torres.

Why? Because the purpose of a youth program is to get players into the first team.

Fun fact: ever since John Terry was promoted to the first team in 1998, nobody from Chelsea’s academy has become a regular at the team.

Chelsea might be better off just scrapping the academy. It’s not a real academy anyhow – it’s just an ornament; a thing that Roman Abramovich makes Chelsea wear,
