Leo Messi’s record breaking 233 goal for Barcelona he scored yesterday is remarkably similar to his first FC Barcelona goal against Albacete – scored on the 1th May 2005. I remember that goal because it came a few moments after he scored an almost carbon-copy goal but it was disallowed.
What these goals teach us is that Messi is programmed to fit a system. His goals are a result of simple combinations, through balls and lobs. However, his goals are only made to look simple because of his excellent technique and organic understanding of his teammates. And as my colleague Ronen Dorfan pointed out: Messi is the most efficient and productive football star ever.
