At half time I thought this was the un-ceremonial burial of Holland’s un-ambitious football. A national team should at least try to play ambitious football.
Many teams in this tournament are trying to play football beyond their potential. Maybe they don’t have a world class playmaker or a wing-back as good as Dani Alves - but they try with what they have.
The Czechs and the Poles are definitely ambitious beyond their ability. And Holland have the players – but an attitude of a 2nd tier side. An insult to their talent.
But maybe it’s not an insult.
This is an over-over rated generation of Dutch football. Not Only by the Cruyff-Van Basten standards. In truth – there is not even a Davids, a Seedorf or Van Nistelrooy among them.

WHAT TO DO NOW?
