Nani is a good yardstick to measure how things are going well for Portugal.
He is a unique individual player, far superior to almost all his teammates, but inferior to Ronaldo by a country mile. He is often mercurial but often gets entangled in bad decision making. He is also the kind of teammate a less focused Ronaldo may forget.
He played a perfect number 2 last night against the Czech Republic. That’s a great sign for Portugal.
