I think it’s pretty safe to say FIFA is a decadent, corrupt, undemocratic organisation.
I think it is also safe to assume that it’s because only political go-getters are running FIFA. It leads to corruption and to an unbalanced organisation, that cares mostly about its members and less about football.
There is a lot of talk about “cleaning up” FIFA. However, it is nearly impossible to do so from the outside, especially when FIFA is so protective of its political independence.
So who should run FIFA? Football associations, clubs (ECA), players (FIFPro), coaches and supporters’ bodies. They have real leverage over FIFA and they are the real stockholders of the game. With each of the bodies owning 20% of FIFA, well balanced decisions can take place for the good of the game.
Players and fans will be better protracted from exploitation, clubs will get a fairer share of international football’s income, coaches will have a say too, while the transparency derived from the plural board will prevent corruption.
Daydreams? Could be. But if Sepp Blatter and his group of politicos can take over the beautiful game, then players. supporters, coaches and clubs can do that as well.

WHAT TO DO NOW?
