Alex Ferguson has decided not to solve Manchester United’s problems. That’s why he didn’t buy a physical defensive midfielder and a quality full-back.
Instead, Sir Alex said to himself: “Let us be the problem!” and instead of covering up weaknesses he brought in Robin Van Persie and Shinji Kagawa. RVP scored 44 goals last year and Kagawa won Bundesliga player of the year. It was a Real Madrid-esque shopping spree.
Tactically-wise it will look like this: The opponent will make the field smaller, what do you do? Score goals. What do you do against high pressure? Score Goals. What do you do against a great passing game? Score Goals! What do you do against 4-3-3? Goals! What do you do against European teams? Score Goals! What is the solution for unpopular ownership? Goals! What do you do against the economic depression? Score goals!
Goals will be Manchester United’s solution for this season.
PS: They tried it in Real Madrid once. It didn’t work well. But there is a solution for it: Goals!
