Olivier Giroud is not underrated and not overrated.
He’s a good international striker who has no real weakness (although his off the ball movement could improve).
He could be great off the bench because he changes the dynamic of a game. He can hold play, bring in players into the game and win aerial duels when it matters and where it matters. However, he is not a striker for a title chasing team.
He does not have the extra technical quality which makes him dangerous from anywhere in the box. He is not charismatic enough to lead a title winning team and he is not consistent enough to even be a wing-man on a title winning team.
He’s good vs smaller teams and sometimes really struggles against big teams.
He’s just what you can except from him and can sometimes pull off the unexpected. He can also really disappoint you when it matters – unlike real title winning stars.
He’s Arsenal. A good team that can surprise you sometimes. Not too special. No glaring weakness. Just a solid, good team that will never win the title as long as they are that kind of team.
